Hi lovely, I’m Tara — a mum of four in a blended, busy, love-filled family. I became a mum at 24, and now have a 13-year-old, a 10-year-old, an 8-year-old bonus-daughter, and a 3-year-old son with my partner of 7 years. We live in Fletcher, where there’s always music playing (usually pop or country).
Before becoming a postpartum doula, I spent 15+ years in hospitality, starting in restaurants and cafés before moving into hotels. I worked my way up from reception to Reservations Manager, Revenue Manager, and eventually Assistant General Manager of a 5-star boutique hotel. That industry taught me how to care deeply for people, create calm and welcoming environments, anticipate needs, communicate clearly, and manage the behind-the-scenes systems that keep everything running smoothly — skills I now bring directly into the homes of the families I support.
When I stepped into postpartum care, something just made sense. Supporting mothers in the fourth trimester felt natural, purposeful, and deeply needed. Over the past two years, Empowering Mothers has grown from just me to something bigger than I ever expected. I’ve worked with countless families, built lasting connections, and seen firsthand how powerful it is when a mother is supported — truly supported — in those early weeks.
As enquiries grew, I realised that one doula alone can’t meet the needs of our community. So I decided to build a team — warm, grounded, heart-led doulas who share the same values and approach to postpartum care. Together, we're creating something meaningful: a village, rebuilt.
I believe every mother deserves to be nurtured, nourished, and held through one of the biggest transformations of her life. That’s the heart of Empowering Mothers — and it’s my honour to walk alongside families during this sacred season.

I’m a proud mum to two little loves — Archie, my busy 2.5-year-old, and Winona, our sweet 5-m onth-old. Before becoming a mum, I studied IndustrialDesign and then completed a Masters of Teaching to become a TAS teacher —getting to dive into all the creative, hands-on subjects like Food Tech, Design& Tech, and Woodwork.
These days, nothing brings me more joy than watching my kids discover the world — their little personalities unfolding and honing new skills. When I’m not in the thick of mum life, you’ll usually find me in the garden, sharing good food, tinkering with a project, or laughing with friends.
I’m so excited to be stepping into the role of Postpartum Doula. I truly believe families deserve to feel supported, nourished, and confident as they welcome a new baby — whether it’s their first or their fifth. It’s such a tender, transformative time, and I can’t wait to walk alongside parents as they find their rhythm and feel held every step of the way.
